Conus (Contraconus) lindajoyceae (Petuch, 1991)
Edward J. Petuch actually, Contraconus lindajoyceae is from the Buckingham Member of the Tamiami Formation (not Caloosahatchee).
It is a much rarer species than adversarius, which is found in the younger Pinecrest Member of the Tamiami Formation. Neither lindajoyceae nor adversarius are found in the Caloosahatchee Formation, which is around 1 million years younger than the Pinecrest Member
Contraconus lindajoyceae is Piacenzian Pliocene from the Buckingham Member of the Tamiami Formation. ( Petuch Unit 10). 3.4-3.6 M.Y A. The Buckingham is now put only in the end of the Piacenzian Pliocene not Zanclean anymore.
By Edward Petuch: The Buckingham Member of the Tamiami Formation is earliest Piacenzian Age, right after the end of the Zanclean Age, at about 4 million years
This species was initially called Contraconus chickee, but this name was never officially described or published; it was simply a manuscript name that Petuch later changed to Contraconus lindajoyceae (from the Buckingham Member of the Tamiami Formation): Petuch wrote "A chickee is a Seminole-Miccosukee name for a palm thatched open hut; chickees have high peaked roofs, so they reminded me of the high, protracted spire of lindajoyceae."
