Conus ponderosulcatus (Sacco, 1893)

 

Osservazioni. — Potrebbe anche considerarsi solo come una varietà del C. ponderosus, tanto più che i caratteristici solcolelli appaiono talora qua e là su qualche forma di detta specie. D'altronde un carattere simile appare anche sul C. johannae H. A. del miocene viennese. (1).

 

Conus johnannae and Conus ponderosulcatus are very similar species, but they differ in some aspects: compared to C. ponderosulcatus, C. johannae is wider at the shoulder and has a higher whorl, while C. ponderosulcatus has a convex profile of the last whorl as it approaches the shoulder.
